Ryuji Miyamoto

BIOGRAPHY (B.1947)

1947 Born in Tokyo.

1973 Completed a degree in graphic design at Tama Art University.

1975 Began his career as a freelance photographer while serving as a staff editor at Jutaku kenchiku (Residential Architecture) Magazine.

1987 Photographed the destruction of the slums in Kau Lung Shing Chai (Kowloon Walled City) in Hong Kong.

1989 Won the Kimura Ihee Award.

1996 Received the Leone d’Oro prize at the Venice Biennale for the best national pavilion at the international architecture exhibition.
